In 1860, three great visionaries – Waman Prabhakar Bhave, Vasudev Balwant Phadke and Laxman Narhar Indapurkar came together to plant a seed of an idea. The idea was profound considering the pre-independence era of India.
The three reformists resolved to establish an educational platform that would generate a strong character and lofty ideals amongst youngsters, and one that nurtures nationalism.
In 1874 The ‘Poona Native Institution‘ took shape as their joint efforts. The institution imparted conventional, contemporary education.
