राष्ट्रीय शिक्षण देण्याच्या उद्देशाने कै. वामन प्रभाकर भावे, आद्यक्रांतिवीर वासुदेव बळवंत फडके आणि कै. लक्ष्मण नरहर इंदापूरकर यांनी १८६० साली महाराष्ट्र एज्युकेशन सोसायटीची स्थापना केली. देशाच्या शैक्षणिक इतिहासात आपल्या विद्यार्थी वर्गाच्या माध्यमातून उल्लेखनीय योगदान देणाऱ्या ‘मएसो’ने शिशु शाळेपासून उच्चशिक्षणापर्यंत आणि व्यावसायिक अभ्यासक्रमापासून आयुर्वेद महाविद्यालयापर्यंत आपले शैक्षणिक क्षेत्र विस्तारले आहे. आजमितीस ७ जिल्ह्यात असलेल्या संस्थेच्या ७५ शाखांच्या माध्यमातून सुमारे ५० हजार विद्यार्थी शिक्षण घेत आहेत. बौद्धिक विकासाबरोबरच विद्यार्थ्यांची शारीरिक संपत्ती जोपासण्यासाठी ‘मएसोक्रीडावर्धिनी’ कार्यरत आहे. विद्यार्थ्यांना विविध प्रकारच्या खेळांचे मार्गदर्शन ‘मएसो क्रीडावर्धिनी’ करते. खासगी प्राथमिक मराठी शाळांमधील विद्यार्थ्यांसाठी ‘मएसो क्रीडावर्धिनी’ च्या माध्यमातून सन २०१० पासून ‘मएसो करंडक’ क्रीडा स्पर्धा आयोजित करण्यास सुरुवात केली आहे. स्वतंत्र जागा असलेली आधुनिक रायफल आणि पिस्तुल शुटींगरेंज हे ‘मएसो’चे क्रीडा विषयक वेगळेपण आहे. ‘मएसो’चे क्रीडा क्षेत्रातील हे लक्षणीय योगदान आहे. व्यक्तिमत्त्वाच्या विकासात असलेले कलांचे अनन्यसाधारण महत्व लक्षात घेऊन महाराष्ट्र एज्युकेशन सोसायटीने ‘मएसो कलावर्धिनी’ हा नवीन उपक्रम सुरू केला आहे. ‘मएसो कलावर्धिनी’त शालेय विद्यार्थ्यांबरोबरच सर्व वयोगटातील व्यक्तींना शास्त्रीय गायन-वादन, अभिनय आदी विविध कलांचे प्रशिक्षण घेता येईल.

विविध कलांचे शास्त्रशुद्ध प्रशिक्षण देणारी... मएसो कलावर्धिनी

मनुष्याच्या अन्न, वस्त्र आणि निवारा या मूलभूत गरजा भागल्या तरी मनुष्याची सृजनशीलता त्याला स्वस्थ बसू देत नाही. ‘कला’ ही अशी गोष्ट आहे जी मनुष्यप्राण्याला इतर प्राणिजीवांपासून वेगळं करते, त्याची उन्नती करते.

गायन, वादन, नृत्य, नाट्य, चित्र, शिल्प आणि साहित्य ह्या सर्व ललितकलांचे प्रयोजन एकच आहे ते म्हणजे, आत्माविष्कार आणि सौंदर्यनिर्मिती! कुठल्याही संपत्तीने विकत घेता येणार नाही आणि संपत्तीमध्ये ज्याचे मोजमाप करता येणार नाही असा निखळ, आत्मिक आनंद आपल्याला कलेच्या उपासनेतून मिळतो.एवढेच नव्हे तर दुर्धर आजारही संगीतोपचाराने बरे झाल्याची उदाहरणे आहेत.

जीवनामध्ये तणाव जाणवत असेल तेव्हाी संगीतचा आधायर घेतल्याोस मनुष्यावचा ताण कमी होतो. त्याहला प्रसन्नत वाटायला लागते.संगीतामुळे त्यावच्या् जीवनाला नवा आशय, नवा विषय मिळाला आहे. अशा या संगीताचे संस्कार बालपणीच झाले तर त्याचा अतिशय सकारात्मक परिणाम व्यक्तिमत्वावर होतो. बालपणी सर्वांच्याच भावनांची तीव्रता अधिक असते. त्यामुळे बालवयात जर संगीताचे संस्कार झाले तर मानवी भाव-भावनांतचे संतुलन राखण्यास मदत होते. शालेय जीवनात संगीत, अभिनय यांचे प्रशिक्षण घेण्याचे अनेक फायदे होतात; जसे की, संगीताच्या शिक्षणामुळे स्वतंत्र विचार करण्याची सवय लागते, समूहगीतातून सांघिक भावना वाढीस लागते, स्पष्ट शब्दोच्चाराची सवय लागते, निरीक्षण व अनुकरणातून कल्पकतेचा विकास होतो, देहबोलीचे सामर्थ्य व त्याचा प्रभाव यांची जाण निर्माण होते, गुणग्राहकता व दाद देण्याची मनोवृत्ती तयार होते इत्यादी.

अशा या कलेची साधना करण्यासाठी योग्य पद्धतीने प्रशिक्षण घेण्याची आवश्यकता असते. उदाहरणार्थ अभिनयाचे प्रशिक्षण घ्यायचे असेल तर त्यासाठी एक विशिष्ट रीत आहे. त्यादृष्टीने ओंकार उच्चारणाचे विविध प्रकार, श्वसनाचे व्यायाम, शब्दोच्चारण, गद्य व पद्य वाचन अशा क्रमाने आवाजाची साधना, सर्जनात्मक विचारपद्धती, रंगमंचावरील हालचाली/वावर, सादरीकरणाची कौशल्ये, स्वतःच्या विचारातून त्यात नावीन्य आणणे आणि अंतिम सादरीकरण यांचे प्रशिक्षण घेणे आवश्यक असते.

त्यामुळेच विविध कलांचे शास्त्रशुद्ध प्रशिक्षण शालेय विद्यार्थ्यांबरोबरच सर्व वयोगटातील व्यक्तींना उपलब्ध करून देण्यासाठी महाराष्ट्र एज्युकेशन सोसायटीने ‘मएसो कलावर्धिनी’ सुरू करण्याचा निर्णय घेतला. कला क्षेत्रातील उत्तमोत्तम दिग्गज येथे मार्गदर्शन करतील.

Established in 1967, it is one of the largest and single faculty commerce colleges in Pune. The College offers courses such as B.Com., M.Com., BBA, BBA (CA), BBA (IB). The College has also established the research centre (Ph.D.-Commerce), namely, Department of Research, Innovations and Consultancy (DRIC). An Entrepreneur Development Centre, a Placement Cell, a Commerce Lab are salient features of the College. About the MES's IMCC Library & Information Resource Centre

The Central Library and Information resource Center of MES IMCC, Pune was established in the year 1983. The period from 1996 and onwards can be considered as the metamorphosis period for the IMCC Library where the library is shifted from a traditional library located in few sq.ft. to modern hybrid library with a modern infrastructure providing daily 12 hours a sound library service.

The library is continuously upgraded by continuously acquiring the books, journals, e-resources, CD's, project reports as well as thesis. The IMCC set up in 1983 focuses on training in the management science. The IMCC conducts courses such as MCA, PGDBM, and DLT all affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University. The IMCC also runs a guidance centre to those appearing for NET/SET examination in Library and Information Science. An autonomous course, namely Postgraduate Diploma in Digital Library, Automation and Networking is conducted here. The institution also houses a research centre in Management Science. The institution enjoys in the list of its past students many who have made their mark in the merit list of the University, or have come into limelight at national and international level.

A full-fledged cafeteria is available on the campus, in addition a relaxation rooms is also provided to the students in college building, there are separate rooms for Girls and Boys.

Vehicle Stand

Students are expected to make use of cycle stand & scooter stand for parking their vehicles by paying necessary fees. Students should not park their vehicles on adjacent roads causing traffic obstruction. The College does not provide four wheeler parking facility for the students.

A large playground is available to the students for sport, jogging, PT exercise etc.Annual sports events are also organized on this ground. College grounds are always engaged with various sports events like Volley Ball, Kabaddi, Kho-kho, Basket Ball, Foot Ball etc.

This girls' hostel of MES is the second home for those students who come from different parts of India and study in different colleges of various institutions. Saraswati Niwas, the girls' hostel, which houses 35 rooms was constructed in 2007. The hostel at present accommodates 141 girl students, and the demand for admission has been on an increase every year. The hostel provides modern facilities such as a study room, a recreation centre for indoor games, internet etc. Feasts and festivals such as Diwali, Ganapati, Navratra, and Christmas are celebrated.

MES set up a shooting range in the premises of MES Renuka Swaroop Memorial Girls' High School to develop interest in shooting as a sport and to nurture players of international standards. The shooting range is modern and well-equipped and has 11 lanes of which 5 are computerized. Participants who have had training in this shooting range have made their mark in various shooting competitions at the national level.

MES Shooting range trains shooters in the skill of 'Target Shooting'.
Shooters trained at MES Shooting range have played at the state and National level and held various medals at the National Level Ten day Safety Basic Course is conducted which makes the shooter eligible to contest competitions organised by Maharashtra Rifle Association.
The Safety Basic Course is done under the instructions given by Maharashtra Rifle Association and it includes MRA Registration at the end of the course.
After the completion of the course, shooters who wish to pursue the sport further, can become members of MES Shooting Range.

सध्या च्या नवीन युगा मधील वाढत्या मानसिक समस्यांची गरज लक्षात घेऊन म. ए. सो. ने व्यक्तिमत्व विकास केंद्राची स्थापना केली. हे केंद्र विद्यार्थी, पालक व शिक्षक यांना ताण तणाव, चिंता, भावनिक, वर्तनात्मक समस्या या सारख्या समस्यांना सामोरे कसे जाता येईल या विषयीचे सामुपदेशांनाचे काम करते. तसेच करिअर समुपदेशन ही करते.
ही महाराष्ट्रातील अशा प्रकारचे काम करणारी पहिली आणि एकमेव अशी संस्था आहे कि जेथे गेल्या १२ वर्षापासून संस्थेच्या प्रत्येक शाळा व महाविद्यालय मध्ये पूर्ण वेळ समुपदेशक काम करत आहेत. संस्था सध्या विविध प्रकारचे मानसशास्त्राशी संबंदित उपक्रम करत आहे. त्या पैकी काही खालीलप्रमाणे आहेत:-

सण समारंभ

दरवर्षी शाळेत पालखीपासून सगळे सण-समारंभ, उत्सव, थोर पुरुषांच्या जयंती व पुण्यतिथी, राष्ट्रीय सण उत्साहाने साजरे केले जातात. यातून मूळ संस्कारांचे महत्व मुलांना कळावे, आपल्या संस्कृतीची ओळख व्हावी या उद्देशाने हे सण साजरे केले जातात. त्याचप्रमाणे दहीहंडी, पालखी सोहळा, दिवाळीत किल्ले, आकाशकंदील तयार करणे अशा सर्व कार्यक्रमात विद्यार्थी उत्साहाने सहभागी होतात.

इंग्रजीची ओळख

विद्यार्थ्यांना लहानपणापासूनच इंग्रजी भाषेची ओळख व्हावी, यासाठी विद्यार्थ्यांना वेगवेगळी चित्रे, गाणी, गोष्टी, तक्ते यांच्या माध्यमातून इंग्रजी भाषेची ओळख व संभाषण कौशल्याचा विकास करण्यासाठी प्रयत्न करण्यात आले. तसेच मोठ्या गटाला लेखनाचा सरावही देण्यात आला.

बालवाचनालय

मुलांना लहानपणापासूनच पुस्तकांची व वाचनाची गोडी निर्माण व्हावी, त्यांचा भाषिक विकास व्हावा या उद्देशाने तीन वर्षापूर्वी चालू केलेल्या बालवाचनालय या उपक्रमाला विद्यार्थ्यांकडून उत्तम प्रतिसाद मिळाला. या प्रकल्पांतर्गत पालकांनीही शाळेला पुस्तके देणगीरूपाने देऊन शाळेवरील लोभ व्यक्त केला.

पालकांसाठी उपक्रम

विद्यार्थ्यांप्रमाणे पालकांसाठीही दर महिन्याला पालकसभा, पालक-शिक्षक सहली, पालकशाळा, पालकांसाठी कृतीसत्र असे उपक्रम घेतले जातात. पालकप्रबोधिनीत यावर्षी मुलांना घरी गोष्टी कशा सांगाव्यात आणि त्यांच्याशी संवाद कसा साधावा हा विषय डोळ्यांसमोर ठेवून पालकांसाठी प्रबोधनपर व्याख्याने आणि कृतीसत्रांचे आयोजन करण्यात आले आणि पालकांमध्ये जागृती निर्माण करण्याचे प्रयत्न केले. या सर्व उपक्रमातून पालकांनाही शाळेत आपल्या मुलाला काय शिकवले जाते याची माहिती मिळायला मदत झाली.

बाबा पालक मेळावा

विद्यार्थ्यांचे बाबा शाळेत शक्यतो कधीच येत नाहीत. बहुतेक वेळा आई पालकच शाळेत येतात. बाबा पालकांना शाळेच्या सर्व उपक्रमांविषयी माहिती व्हावी, त्यांचा शाळेतील सहभाग वाढावा यासाठी बाबा पालक मेळाव्याचे आयोजन करण्यात आले. नवीन पिढीबरोबर आई बाबांनी कशा प्रकारे सुसंवाद साधावा व मुलांना आपला वेळ देताना आपल्या स्वतःमध्ये कोणते गुणात्मक बदल करावेत या विषयावर त्यांना श्रीमती सायली कुलकर्णी यांनी समुपदेशन केले. या मेळाव्याला बाबा पालकांचा उत्कृष्ट प्रतिसाद लाभला.

आजी-आजोबा मेळावा

सध्या एकत्र कुटुंबपद्धती नसल्यामुळे लहान मुलांना आजी-आजोबांशी संवाद साधणे अवघड झाले आहे. त्यामुळे मुले एकाकी पडतात असे निदर्शनास आले आहे. त्यामुळे या दोघांमधील संवाद वाढावा या सामाजिक जाणिवेतून, शाळा पाहण्याच्या निमित्ताने आजी-आजोबा मेळाव्याचे आयोजन करण्यात आले. या मेळाव्याला आजी-आजोबांकडून उत्स्फूर्त प्रतिसाद मिळाला. समुपदेशक श्रीमती केतकी कुलकर्णी व श्रीमती प्राजक्ता चिंचोलीकर यांनी मुलांवर योग्य संस्कार होण्यासाठी घरचे वातावरण कसे असावे या विषयावर समुपदेशन केले.

आनंद मेळावा

शाळेची ओळख बाहेरील विद्यार्थी/पालकांनाही व्हावी या हेतूने आनंद मेळाव्याचे आयोजन करण्यात आले. यामध्ये मुलांसाठी खाद्यपदार्थांचे स्टॉल, पुस्तक विक्रीचे स्टॉल, दिवाळी साहित्याचे स्टॉल लावण्यात आले होते. तसेच जंपिंग जॅक, पाळणा, मिकी-माऊस असे विविध खेळही मांडण्यात आले होते. प्रत्येक वर्गातही शाळेतील प्रकल्पांची पालकांना माहिती व्हावी या हेतूने प्रकल्पांची मांडणी केली होती. विद्यार्थ्यांसाठी पपेट शोचे आयोजन करण्यात आले.

शैक्षणिक साधन निर्मिती कार्यशाळा

इयत्ता पहिलीत जाण्याच्या दृष्टीने घरच्या घरी पालकांना शैक्षणिक साधने कशी तयार करता येतील हे शैक्षणिक साधन निर्मिती कार्यशाळेमध्ये पालकांना शिकविण्यात आले. आपल्या मुलांना घरी नक्की काय शिकवता येईल हा उद्देश या कार्यशाळेमध्ये होता. यामध्ये मराठी शब्द दृढीकरण तक्ता तयार करणे आणि अक्षरावरून शब्द तयार करणे या गोष्टी पालकांना शिकविण्यात आल्या.

सेविकांची कार्यशाळा

नवीन सेविकांनाही शाळेमध्ये शिक्षिकांना मदत करावी लागते. त्यांच्यातील आत्मविश्‍वास वाढावा यासाठी त्यांची कार्यशाळा घेण्यात आली. यामध्ये अभिनय गीत, प्रार्थना, भजन, नवीन गाणी तयार करणे, चाली शिकविणे या गोष्टीतून सेविकांना मार्गदर्शन करण्यात आले.

उन्हाळी शिबीर

या वर्षी २ ते ६ वयोगटातील विद्यार्थ्यांना त्यांची उन्हाळी सुट्टी मजेत जावी यासाठी एका उन्हाळी शिबिराचे आयोजन करण्यात आले होते. त्यामध्ये हस्तकला, चित्रकला, गाणी, गोष्टी यांचा अंतर्भाव करण्यात आला. तसेच शिबिरातील मुलांसाठी एका छोट्या सहलीचेही आयोजन करण्यात आले. शिबिराला मुलांनी उत्तम प्रतिसाद दिला.

सामाजिक बांधिलकी

शाळेमध्ये विद्यार्थ्यांना शिक्षणाबरोबरच सामाजिक बांधिलकीचा वसा हाती कसा घ्यावा यासाठी स्वातंत्र्यदिनाच्या कार्यक्रमात विद्यार्थ्यांनी आणि शिक्षिकांनी जमवलेले दोन क्विंटल तांदूळ आणि दहा किलो कडधान्ये वनवासी कल्याण आश्रमाच्या श्रीमती जोशीराव मॅडम यांना प्रदान केले. यातूनच सामाजिक बांधिलकीची जपणूक शाळेकडून करण्यात आली.

वृक्षारोपण

शनिवार दि.२.७.२०१६ रोजी प्रशालेतील एन सी सी मधील २१ छात्रानी व शिक्षकांनी पौड नानेगाव येथे शेतामध्ये व बांधावरती वृक्षारोपण केले. वृक्षांचे महत्व पर्यावरण विषय जनजागृती वृक्षसंवर्धन करणे हि काळाची गरज आहे. यासाठी विद्यार्थ्यांना प्रेरित करून अतिशय उत्साहात हा उपक्रम राबविण्यात आला. या कार्यक्रमाचे नियोजन श्री.दराडे सर यांनी केले.तसेच सहकारी शिक्षक श्री.जायभाय सर व हिले यांनी मार्गदर्शन केले.

आपत्ती व्यवस्थापन

दि.२०.७.२०१६ रोजी प्रशालेत डेक्कन जिमखाना पोलीस स्टेशन व पुणे मनपा अग्निशमन केंद्र व प्रशाला यांचे तर्फे प्रशालेत दुपार विभागात अग्निशामक दलातर्फे आग विझविण्याचे प्रात्यक्षिक दाखविण्यात आले. तसेच फायर ब्रिगेड च्या जवानांनी पाण्याचे विविध प्रकारचे फवारे उडवून विद्यार्थ्यांची मने जिंकली. आपत्ती व्यवस्थापनाचे प्रमुख श्री.दराडे सर यांनी नियोजन केले. सहकारी शिक्षिका श्रीम.सुवर्णा काळे व श्रीम.अनघा बोत्रे यांनी मार्गदर्शन केले.

आपली सूर्यमाला

इ.८ वी शिवनेरी व इ.८ वी तोरणा या वर्गातील विद्यार्थ्यांनी आपली सूर्यमाला हा कृती उपक्रम दि. २६.७.२०१६ रोजी सादर केला.यामध्ये सूर्य व सूर्याभोवती फिरणारे ८ ग्रह यांनी समोर येऊन आपापली माहिती सांगितली व नंतर आपल्या कक्षेत जाऊन उभे राहिले व त्यानंतर सर्व ग्रह स्वत:भोवती व सूर्याभोवती फिरताना दाखविले. या कृतीसाठी श्रीम.सुवर्णा काळे व श्रीम.उषा बगाडे यांनी मार्गदर्शन केले. प्रशालेच्या मुख्याध्यापिका सौ.काजरेकर मडम यांच्या प्रोत्साहनामुळे हि कृती अतिशय सुंदर रित्या सदर केली गेली.

ग्रंथ प्रदर्शन

दरवर्षी आमच्या प्रशालेत ग्रंथ प्रदर्शन भरविले जाते.या प्रदर्शनात दरवर्षी ग्रंथालयातील एका विषयाची पुस्तके मांडलीजातात. तसेच त्या विषयाला अनुसरून चार्टस मुलांचे प्रोजेक्टही मांडले जातात. यावर्षी हे प्रदर्शन दि.२७ जुलै ते २ ऑगस्त २०१६ या कालावधीत भरविले गेले. यावर्षी भूगोल या विषयाची पुस्तके चार्टस व मुलांनी केलेली मोडेल्स प्रदर्शात मांडली होती. तसेच ऑस्ट्रेलिया इटली व जर्मनी या विषयाची पीपीटी इ.८ वी च्या मुलींनी तयार केली होती. ती प्रोजेक्टर वर दाखवून अबोली साने इ.८ वी शिवनेरी हिने माहिती सांगितली. तसेच या वर्गाने सूर्यमाला तयार केली होती.त्याबद्दलही माहिती सांगितली होती.विद्यार्थी व शिक्षकांनी या ग्रंथ प्रदर्शनाला प्रतिसाद दिला.

Internet and Wi-Fi facility: Internet facility is available in the college library. The hostel students can use this internet facility.
Facilities for medical emergencies: Dr. Mrs. Leena Bavdekar has been appointed as Honorary Medical Officer for the Hostel Students.
Library facility in the hostels: Students of the hostel have created their own library and currently there are more than 50 books available in this library. The hostel students can use the college library facility.
Recreational facility: Common room with audio-visual equipment, Television Sets, Indoor Games kits for Table Tennis, Carom and Chess.
Residential facility for the staff: Two residential quarters on the campus are occupied by the Rector and Assistant Rector.
Constant supply of safe drinking water: Three Water Filters-Coolers provide safe drinking water to all occupants.
Security: A total of seven CC TV Cameras are installed to monitor different areas of the buildings.

On the campus of Garware College, stand two separate hostels for girl and boy students. Excellent lodging arrangements, cleanliness are salient features of the hostel. Various competitions, programmes, discussion sessions, excursions, Surya Namaskar coaching, medical examination etc. are organized every year for the inmates. Everyday all students from the hostel participate in the mass drill. The best boy student and the best girl student are awarded every year by the hostel.
