Dr. Yogesh Joshi did B.E. in Polymer Engineering from Pune University in 1996. He did a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from National Chemical Laboratory, Pune and Indian Institute of Technology Bombay in 2001. Subsequently he joined Benjamin Levich Institute, New York for post-doctoral studies. Dr. Joshi joined Department of Chemical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur in 2004, where presently he is C. V. Seshadri Chair Professor. His area of research is Colloidal Glasses and Gels, Rheology of Complex Fluids, and Polymer Science and Engineering.

Dr. Joshi is recipient of Indian National Science Academy medal for young scientist (2006), Indian National Academy of Engineering young Engineer award (2008) and Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Award in Engineering Sciences (2015). Joshi was excellent in mathematics and science right from school days. He is past student of MES Bal Shikshan Mandir, Bhandarkar Road, MES Sau. Vimlabai Garware High School & MES Abasaheb Garware college, Pune.
