वृक्षारोपण

शनिवार दि.२.७.२०१६ रोजी प्रशालेतील एन सी सी मधील २१ छात्रानी व शिक्षकांनी पौड नानेगाव येथे शेतामध्ये व बांधावरती वृक्षारोपण केले. वृक्षांचे महत्व पर्यावरण विषय जनजागृती वृक्षसंवर्धन करणे हि काळाची गरज आहे. यासाठी विद्यार्थ्यांना प्रेरित करून अतिशय उत्साहात हा उपक्रम राबविण्यात आला. या कार्यक्रमाचे नियोजन श्री.दराडे सर यांनी केले.तसेच सहकारी शिक्षक श्री.जायभाय सर व हिले यांनी मार्गदर्शन केले.

आपत्ती व्यवस्थापन

दि.२०.७.२०१६ रोजी प्रशालेत डेक्कन जिमखाना पोलीस स्टेशन व पुणे मनपा अग्निशमन केंद्र व प्रशाला यांचे तर्फे प्रशालेत दुपार विभागात अग्निशामक दलातर्फे आग विझविण्याचे प्रात्यक्षिक दाखविण्यात आले. तसेच फायर ब्रिगेड च्या जवानांनी पाण्याचे विविध प्रकारचे फवारे उडवून विद्यार्थ्यांची मने जिंकली. आपत्ती व्यवस्थापनाचे प्रमुख श्री.दराडे सर यांनी नियोजन केले. सहकारी शिक्षिका श्रीम.सुवर्णा काळे व श्रीम.अनघा बोत्रे यांनी मार्गदर्शन केले.

आपली सूर्यमाला

इ.८ वी शिवनेरी व इ.८ वी तोरणा या वर्गातील विद्यार्थ्यांनी आपली सूर्यमाला हा कृती उपक्रम दि. २६.७.२०१६ रोजी सादर केला.यामध्ये सूर्य व सूर्याभोवती फिरणारे ८ ग्रह यांनी समोर येऊन आपापली माहिती सांगितली व नंतर आपल्या कक्षेत जाऊन उभे राहिले व त्यानंतर सर्व ग्रह स्वत:भोवती व सूर्याभोवती फिरताना दाखविले. या कृतीसाठी श्रीम.सुवर्णा काळे व श्रीम.उषा बगाडे यांनी मार्गदर्शन केले. प्रशालेच्या मुख्याध्यापिका सौ.काजरेकर मडम यांच्या प्रोत्साहनामुळे हि कृती अतिशय सुंदर रित्या सदर केली गेली.

ग्रंथ प्रदर्शन

दरवर्षी आमच्या प्रशालेत ग्रंथ प्रदर्शन भरविले जाते.या प्रदर्शनात दरवर्षी ग्रंथालयातील एका विषयाची पुस्तके मांडलीजातात. तसेच त्या विषयाला अनुसरून चार्टस मुलांचे प्रोजेक्टही मांडले जातात. यावर्षी हे प्रदर्शन दि.२७ जुलै ते २ ऑगस्त २०१६ या कालावधीत भरविले गेले. यावर्षी भूगोल या विषयाची पुस्तके चार्टस व मुलांनी केलेली मोडेल्स प्रदर्शात मांडली होती. तसेच ऑस्ट्रेलिया इटली व जर्मनी या विषयाची पीपीटी इ.८ वी च्या मुलींनी तयार केली होती. ती प्रोजेक्टर वर दाखवून अबोली साने इ.८ वी शिवनेरी हिने माहिती सांगितली. तसेच या वर्गाने सूर्यमाला तयार केली होती.त्याबद्दलही माहिती सांगितली होती.विद्यार्थी व शिक्षकांनी या ग्रंथ प्रदर्शनाला प्रतिसाद दिला.

The College comprises twenty three Departments of subjects from Arts and Science Streams. As in any other institutions of the MES, the College provides excellent laboratory facilities to the students of science stream. The College is the first in the country and the only one in Maharashtra which offers a post-graduate course in Biodiversity. A grand book fair - The library organizes this book exhibition in the month of August every year. The various book publishers and vendors are called to participate in this book fair ensuring the new arrivals at the related subject areas.

Spacious canteen which is open from 8:00a.m to 6:00p.m and caters to a wide variety of food items.

Residential facilities for students (gents and ladies) are available in 3 hostel buildings:

Gents’ Hostel - Numbers of students accommodated : 135
Internet and Wi-Fi facility: Internet facility is available in the college library. The hostel students can use this internet facility.
Facilities for medical emergencies: Dr. Mrs. Leena Bavdekar has been appointed as Honorary Medical Officer for the Hostel Students.
Library facility in the hostels: Students of the hostel have created their own library and currently there are more than 50 books available in this library. The hostel students can use the college library facility.
Recreational facility: Common room with audio-visual equipment, Television Sets, Indoor Games kits for Table Tennis, Carom and Chess.
Residential facility for the staff: Two residential quarters on the campus are occupied by the Rector and Assistant Rector.
Constant supply of safe drinking water: Three Water Filters-Coolers provide safe drinking water to all occupants.
Security: A total of seven CC TV Cameras are installed to monitor different areas of the buildings.
Other facilities: Hostel has a solar panel installed. So, hot water facility is available for students. Also, there are vermin-culture and biogas plants installed in the hostel. Biometrics is used to monitor the attendance of the hostelites.

Established in 1967, it is one of the largest and single faculty commerce colleges in Pune. The College offers courses such as B.Com., M.Com., BBA, BBA (CA), BBA (IB). The College has also established the research centre (Ph.D.-Commerce), namely, Department of Research, Innovations and Consultancy (DRIC). An Entrepreneur Development Centre, a Placement Cell, a Commerce Lab are salient features of the College. The College provides facilities such as a computer lab, audio-visual aids, reading halls etc. The College is permanently affiliated to the Savitribai Phule Pune University and has a rich tradition of meritorious students in academics and social fields. In the re-accreditation process, the College bagged the prestigious ‘A’ grade from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), scoring the appreciable grade points 3.45 out of 4. It is also the recipient of the Best College Award of Savitribai Phule Pune University. In the era of globalization of education, it is necessary to give global exposure to students. On the campus of Garware College, stand two separate hostels for girl and boy students. Excellent lodging arrangements, cleanliness are salient features of the hostel. Various competitions, programmes, discussion sessions, excursions, Surya Namaskar coaching, medical examination etc. are organized every year for the inmates. Everyday all students from the hostel participate in the mass drill. The best boy student and the best girl student are awarded every year by the hostel.
